Every day at Full Tilt poker, players can find tournaments to compete in with various buy-ins to meet their bank roll. Sometimes in the higher buy-in tournaments average Joes get to compete against professional poker players, especially at Full Tilt. The latest Monday $1k tournament saw an online player defeat a Full Tilt Poker pro for a nice first place prize.
The Monday $1k has a buy-in of $1,000 plus 60 and three hundred and thirty two players registered bringing the prize pool up to $332,000. Thirty six spots would be paid with the top spot earning just under $30,000 more than second.
Now I don’t know if poker pro David Pham was online for fun or practice or a little of both but of course being the pro he is, Pham landed himself in heads up play. Pham would face off against online player JBlaze20 after subiime was eliminated in third place. JBlaze20 is no stranger to winning or doing well but going heads up against a poker pro, in my opinion, would be very stressful not to mention nerve racking.
One would expect the pro to take the small tournament easily but that would not be the case. JBlaze20 would play well and when he gained the chip lead he would make his move and Pham would call. JBlaze20’s cards would hold up better than Pham’s and he would take the win from the pro.
Final Results:
JBlaze20 – $83,000
David Pham – $53,120
subiime – $39,840
des-er-ray – $30,710
pepe11 – $23,240
jackuup888 – $16,600
joaoMATHIAS – $10,790
cransbard – $8,300
BARNIBUS – $6,640
