The first winner of the Poker Stars Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) was crowned in Manilla, Philippines and it was not one of the usual poker pro suspects. Instead, unknown Brett Parise from BodogPoker, USA outplayed 255 other poker players, 65 of whom qualified via a Poker Stars Satellite Tournament,to be crowned the first winner from the Poker Stars APPT.

Parise not only now holds the distinction of being the first ever APPT champion, but he also holds a nice first prize of $179,775. The first place winnings is one of the largest cash prizes ever awarded in Asian Poker history.

Parise’s next stop? Perhaps theParadise Seoul Casino at the Walker Hill Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. This is where the second leg of the APPT will take place.The event is scheduled for September 26-30 and satellite qualifiers are running now at BodogPoker.com and Poker Stars.

At the time of this post 49 players had already won their way to event #2 of the APPTin Seoul via a satellite tournament at Poker Stars. Players can play their way into the APPT event in Seoul for as little as $8.88 or 350 frequent player points at Poker Stars.
