In the wake of Full Tilt Poker’s masterfully executed Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS IX), which came to its conclusion last weekend, the regularly scheduled Sunday tournaments have returned with a reverberating “bada-boom!”
The Full Tilt Poker Sunday $750k Guarantee, Sunday Mulligan and Sunday Brawl each saw prize pools bolstered - some more significantly than others – by excessive player participation. The professional opinion (my own, that is) would be that the outbreak of major victories erupting from the FTOPS IX series has simply worked to increase the enthusiasm of the online poker room’s multiplicity of members.
Starting with the Sunday $750k GP at Full Tilt Poker, a field of 3,752 jumped the prize pool to $750,400. (Okay, before you laugh, I did say “some more than others!”) Regardless of the size of the GP’s boost, FullTilt Poker has to be very pleased with the lack of overlays, and the participants have little to complain about – 522 of them would be eating a slice of that pie by the time it was all said and done.
In the end, it was “ship Hamilton” - the 4th place winner in last week’s Sunday Mulligan – defeating “6speed” in heads-up action to take the top prize of $132,858. 6speed earned a hefty $80,293 for the 2nd place finish.

Moving on, Full Tilt Poker hosted its Sunday Brawl bounty-style competition with guaranteed prize pool of $250k. This GP received a much more substantial boost as 1,811 entries raised the purse by more than $100k to top off at $362,200.
The top 189 players would finish in the money bubble, but it was “head2782” pocketing the 1st place prize of $74,613 for ousting “adeeeum” in heads-up.
