Last week the fourth installment of the UltimateBet Online Championship kicked off and a few events have already finished up. Events #3 and #4 have completed and both saw a good turnout of players and got the tournament series off to a great start.

Event #3 was a $320 No Limit Hold’em Four Max tournament and 476 players registered to compete. A prize pool of $142,800 was created and the top 52 players would cash out. When it came down to heads up play it would be online players KUNKLES27 and PURPLEPILS99 who would be competing.

In the final hand both would go all in with KUNKLES27 holding A-7 and PURPLEPILS99 holding Q-9. The board ran 5-J-8-K-2 and it was all over for PURPLEPILS99 who would finish in second place.

Final Results:
1.KUNKLES27 – $37,485
2. PURPLEPILS99 – $22,491
3. BRBLONDE2020 – $14,637
4. DONKMAGNET55 – $11,067

In heads up play SUPERPROP123 would face ILUVBECKYARF. In the final hand SUPERPROP’s 8-9 would be what he needed for top pair and he would take the win. ILUVBECKYARF’s K-8 would not be enough on the board of 3-8-9-3.

Final Results:
1. SUPERPROP123 – $16,763
2. ILUVBECKYARF – $10,274
3. LOLA2425 – $6,850
4. HOYAZO – $4,759
5.
The $25k PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller tournament was an exciting event in the Bahamas. Eight four players posted the large buy-in to compete for four days to try and win the $500,000+ first place prize. In the end it would be William Reynolds who took down the title.

Several top poker pros participated in the event which included Greg Raymer, Mike Matusow and Daniel Negreanu. But the most recognizable poker pros would not make it to the final table. Reynolds would be a notable player but he is not as well known as other poker pros.

Reynolds has been very successful over the past few months with a 4th place finish at the 2009 EPT San Remo. Reynolds is a regular player at PokerStars and he is a frequent winner during tournaments at the top poker room.

Reynolds commented on his recent win at the PCA by stating: “It was the most roller coaster of a ride I’ve ever been on. I was all in so many times at the end of Day 3 it looked I was going to be the final table bubble. I ended up doubling up four times in a row and making it to the final table, chipping up, winning some key hands and taking it down.”

Reynolds would have to face Will Molson in heads up play before he could claim the title. In the end the two would compete for about three hours before the final hand would take place. Reynolds had earned the chip lead when he went all in A-10 against Molson’s K-9. The flop was 5-7-9 and J-A was no help on the turn and river for Molson so Reynold’s earned the first place win.

Final Results:
1st: William Reynolds – $576,240
2nd: Will Molson – $322,075
3rd: Adolfo Vaeza – $218,150
4th: Michiel Brummelhuis – $154,350
5th: Lisa Hamilton – $133,770
6th: Tobias Reinkemeier – $108,045
7th: Matt Marafioti – $87,465
8th: Dmitry Stelmark – $66,885

Full Tilt Poker is one of the most popular poker sites available online and one reason they are so popular is for their weekend tournaments. Early afternoon on Sundays means it is time for The Sunday Mulligan and The Sunday Brawl at Full Tilt. This past weekend the tournaments had a great turnout and both increased their prize pools well over the guaranteed amount.
The Sunday Mulligan is a $200,000 guaranteed tournament and it has a buy-in of $200 plus 16. This weekend the tournament had 1,222 players participating so 117 spots would be paid out of the $244,400 prize pool. The large number of participants increased the prize pool by $44,400.
In the end it would be online players Luukie21 and steamcontrol who would be competing for the first place prize. Both would make it to heads up play and would want to be the last player standing. But there can only be one winner and when the cards were right, Luukie21 made all the right moves to become the first place winner.

Final Results:
Luukie21 – $53,768
steamcontrol – $34,216
BotOFallBOTS – $25,173
Mig_com – $19,858
LiViNLeGeNd07 – $15,275
Mescalin8 – $10,998
axe38 – $7,332
Bttech86 – $5,499
Tim0thee – $3,910
The Sunday Brawl had even participants than the Sunday Mulligan and the prize pool was increased to a much larger amount. The Sunday Brawl has a buy-in of $240 plus 16 and is a knockout tournament. The tournament offers a guarantee of $400,000 in prize money and with 2,621 players competing; the prize pool would be increased by $124,000. 279 spots would be paid with first place earning just over $106,000.
The difference between first and second was just over $38,000 so both ThatsFrushedUp and El Spewtardo wanted to be the last player standing when it came to heads up play. Both tried their best to knock out the other player but it would take some time before a winner would be named. In the end ThatsFrushedUp would gain the chip lead for the final time and go all in. El Spewtardo would call his all in but his cards would not hold up and ThatsFrushedUp would take the first place win.
Final Results:
ThatsFrushedUp – $106,413
El Spewtardo – $68,670
Caio Brites – $50,847
Lilly36 – $38,267

This year’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is going to be very exciting with all of the various events taking place but one event is extra special. PokerStars has been working with amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS research, to create a high profile charity poker tournament. The tournament will feature top poker pros, sports stars and celebrities, playing poker to raise money for the cause.
The tournament will have a buy-in of $5,250 and will take place at the Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island on January 8th, 2010. Half of the total prize pool will be going to amfAR to help support their research and help raise awareness to HIV/AIDS.
PokerStars sponsored sports stars Mats Sundin, the NHL Olympic gold medalist, Boris Becker the Tennis legend and French rugby star Sebastian Chabal are all members of Team PokerStars pro and expected to participate. Other PokerStars pros are expected to participate as well.
Daniel Negreanu commented: “PokerStars is bringing a truly innovative and fulfilling cause to the PCA this year through their partnership with amfAR. As a member of Team PokerStars Pro, I feel very lucky to be able to participate in, and contribute to, such a worthwhile cause in the name of AIDS research.”
PokerStars will be running special online qualifiers for players to be able to win their seat to the event. Players who win seats will earn a trip to the Bahamas and be able to rub elbows with the sports stars, celebrities and poker pros while they support the great charity.
Gregory Boroff, amfAR’s vice president and director of development commented: “amfAR is grateful for PokerStars for providing this opportunity to bring AIDS awareness to a new audience and to raise critical funds for AIDS research.”
