Erik Lindgren
Beloved by his friends, feared by his opponents, young poker star Erick Lindgren has proven himself an unstoppable force in the world of poker. Not yet 35 years old, Lindgren (aka E-Dog) has already won 2 World Poker Tour Championships, the World Poker Tour PartyPoker Million III, the $600,000 FullTiltPoker.net Poker Pro Showdown at the Red Rock Casino, and was named the 2004 World Poker Tour Player of the Year. As of 2007 Lindgren has netted a whopping $5.5+ million in live tournament winnings.
A native Californian of Swedish ancestry who now lives in Las Vegas, this son of the owner of a tire shop got his introduction to making money from gaming at an early age and in an interesting, entrepreneurial form, dealing baseball cards at just 14 years old.
A basketball and football enthusiast throughout his life, this once All League quarterback switched from the field to the felt with a fervor, claiming to this day that cards is the only regular job he has ever held, starting out as a blackjack dealer and moving quickly to being a prop player at a cardroom in his native California.
Upstart Erick won his first major poker tournament at the age of 26 at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas. Ten months later he won his first World Poker Tour title, and 6 months later claimed that year’s Poker Million.

He was the runner up in the 2005 World Series of Poker Atlantic City Circuit Event and, one month later, took 5th place in the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic as well as the top prize in the Professional Poker Tours second tournament, both in the same week. At the following years Borgata Winter Poker Open, Lindgren finished 3rd. He followed that up by winning the 4th annual Bellagio 5-Star Poker Classic. In 2007, Lindgren won $800,000 at the Aussie Millions in the $100,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament. And though he has yet to take home a World Series of Poker bracelet, he has achieved, at the time of this writing, 13 in-the-money finishes at WSOP events. He’s won 2 WPT titles and made 5 WPT final tables. Also referred to playfully as The American Idol, and considered one of WPT’s Young Guns of Poker, Lindgren has since penned a best-selling book of poker tournament strategy called, “World Poker Tour: Making the Final Table”. As with many of his fellow poker pros, E-Dog is also an avid golfer, winning $300,000 in a bet against, among others, another young poker star Phil Ivey.
