PokerStars APPT Coming to an End

Visit Poker Stars

The PokerStars Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) is coming to a close after a very successful first season. This season the APPT has taken on great cities such as Manila and Seoul and is now invading Macau, China as I write this post. However, there is one more big stop to make and that is at the season final in Sydney, Australia.

PokerStars.com though just isn’t sponsoring these great events, they are sending their online poker players to them to have a chance at winning millions of dollars in prizes. Players can qualify for the Sydney Series Finale via one of PokerStars satellite tournaments starting at $2.20.

Or you could of course just shell out the $5,700 in entry money if you have it lying around as well.

This event does have a cap of 600 players so qualify for your seat today at PokerStars. Players who qualify via PokerStars satellite tournaments will receive the following prize package:

After PokerStars announced its new step up tournament challenge a couple weeks ago, they have expanded the step tournaments to players who wish to qualify for the Asian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). Players may now enter the tournament ladder at any point their bankroll allows and play their way in to the APPT Macau or the APPT Sydney.

Players can begin their quest to qualify for the final APPT events for as little as $7.50.

The tournament steps are explained in the image below:

Poker Stars has introduced yet another way for online poker players to qualify for the 2008 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. Now you can not only qualify via cash satellite tournaments or via the tournament leader board and Frequent Player Points satellite tournaments, but players may also win their way to the Bahamas via the Steps option at PokerStars.

The Step Up options allows players of all bankrolls to qualify for the $12,000 Super Satellite that can send you directly to the PCA 2008. Step Up challenges begin at $7.50 or 500 FPP’s. Players then can “Step Up” to the next satellite tournament or if they finish in the top 3 may try again at the current step level. This is made more clear by the chart below provided by PokerStars. PokerStars has once again made playing satellite tournaments easy and more accessible then any other online poker room! Good luck.

WCOOP Event #6 Winner: A Familiar Champion

Visit Poker Stars

Greg Raymer, better known as FossilMan, has once again reached the top of the poker mountain at Poker Stars WCOOP event #6. Fossilman triumphed in the 772 player, $320 Pot Limit Omaha rebuy event on September 18th. Raymer was credited with $168,362.40 in his Poker Stars account!

Fossilman began the final table with a dominating chip stack and held strong to take down the World Championships of Online Poker Event #6. One particularly humorous event occurred when Raymer actually lost his internet connection during the final table. Maybe Fossilman should invest in a dedicated internet line for the next WCOOP event. :P

Players can still qualify for WCOOP events at Poker Stars now for as low as $8.80!
