Bodog Poker Sunday $100k GTD Goes To “woodhawk”

Though times have been rough for BodogLive Poker recently, the online poker room continues to host its weekly $100k Guarantee, awarding a minimum of $23,600 to the 1st place finisher. Last Sunday, that lucky and talented online poker player turned out to be “woodhawk”, who outlasted the field to take down the $100k GTD tournament.
I would have to go a very long way back into the record books to find out the last time BodogLife.com actually attracted enough players to its biggest weekly event to cover the prize pool. This week, a field of 603 participants created a nearly 40% overlay – excellent news for the tournament’s participants, but not so appreciated by management of Bodog Poker, who had to toss another $39,700 into the purse.
The top 90 finishers would each see a piece of the money bubble, but none more so than the final tablists, which included 22 year old “Minesony” of Australia – 1st place winner of nearly $6.4k a few weeks ago at Full Tilt Poker’s $28k GTD (not bad for a $24 buy-in).
The aforementioned talents of “Minesony” took a 3rd place ($9,100) exit from the Bodog Poker tournament tables, leaving “woodhawk” and “tkids” to battle it out in heads-up. It was a decent fight, but “woodhawk” eventually overcame his opponent to claim the 1st place prize of $23,600. The 2nd place finish earned “tkids” a respectable $13,600.
